Terms of Use
Effective [date of publication] · Last updated 8 October 2026
These terms cover your use of the Akimoa apps for Android and iPhone and of Akimoa Plus. They're an agreement between you and [Akimoa legal entity name and registered address] ("Akimoa", "we", "us"). By using Akimoa you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
The short version
- Akimoa helps you organise your household's money, tasks, groceries and documents. It doesn't move money, and it isn't financial advice.
- What you put into a shared household, the people in it can see, as you choose in the app.
- Akimoa Plus is a subscription through Google Play or the App Store. You manage and cancel it there.
- You can stop using Akimoa and delete your account at any time.
1. Using Akimoa
You need to be old enough to agree to these terms where you live (at least 18 in India). You're responsible for your account, for keeping your sign-in safe, and for what you add to Akimoa. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
2. Households
- A household is shared: its owner invites members and decides roles, and each item is shared with the people you choose. Remove someone and they lose access to the household's shared items from then on; what was already on their phone may stay there.
- Only add people to your household with their agreement. If you add children or other people who don't have their own login, you're responsible for the information you enter about them.
- The household owner can switch on elder view for another member, which lets them see the household and tick tasks and groceries but not change money or settings.
3. Not financial advice
Safe to spend, forecasts, budgets, "Can we afford it", What-if and Ask Akimoa answers are estimates worked out from the information you and your household enter and the messages you choose to capture. They can be wrong or out of date. Akimoa doesn't hold, move or pay money, doesn't connect to your bank account, and isn't a bank, an investment adviser or a tax adviser. Check anything important before you act on it.
4. AI features
Ask Akimoa and other AI features generate answers automatically and can make mistakes. Don't rely on them for decisions with serious consequences. Akimoa may suggest a change (for example to a goal); nothing changes until you confirm it. Free and Plus plans include a monthly number of AI answers, which we may adjust.
5. Akimoa Plus
- Buying: Plus is sold as a monthly or yearly subscription through Google Play or the App Store, at the price shown in the app before you buy. One subscription covers your household.
- Renewal and cancelling: it renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Cancel in your Google Play or App Store account settings; Plus stays on until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Refunds: refunds are handled by Google or Apple under their policies.
- Free trial: each person can have one free trial of Plus. We check this using your account, your email address and a one-way fingerprint of your phone, as described in the Privacy Policy.
- Free time from rewards and referrals: points and referrals can earn days of Plus. This is free time we grant, not money or a discount on the store price, has no cash value, can't be transferred, and has limits (currently at most three rewards a year). We may change or end rewards and referrals, but we'll honour free time already granted.
- What's included in Free and in Plus may change over time. If we move something you already use to Plus, we'll tell you in the app first.
6. Fair use
Don't misuse Akimoa: don't try to get into other people's households or data, interfere with the service, get around plan limits or the one-trial rule, use it for anything unlawful, or upload content you don't have the right to share. Plans include limits (for example on stored documents and AI answers) so the service stays affordable for everyone.
7. Your content
What you add to Akimoa stays yours. You give us permission to store, sync and process it only to run Akimoa for you and your household, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can export it, and delete it or your whole account, from inside the app.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep Akimoa running and your data safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. Keep a backup of anything you can't afford to lose. We may change or stop features; if we ever shut Akimoa down, we'll give you notice and a way to export your data.
9. Ending
You can stop using Akimoa and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why where we can.
10. Liability
To the extent the law allows, Akimoa is provided "as is", and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions you make based on its estimates or AI answers. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of [country / state], and disputes go to the courts of [city], unless the law where you live says otherwise.
12. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
